1. Read the text about our college. Anton
Makarenko Kyiv Professional Pedagogical College Anton Makarenko Kyiv Professional
Pedagogical College is well-known in Ukraine and abroad. On May 31, 1944 Kyiv Industrial
Technical School of the Ministry of Labor Force of the USSR was formed for
the vocational education training (VET) instructors’ teaching. In 1962 it
became Technical School of Semi-Conducting Instrument-Making. This
educational institution was re-named into Kyiv Industrial Pedagogical
Technical School in 1967. In 1990 it was the first to obtain the status of
Kyiv Industrial Pedagogical College. The college became Kyiv Professional
Pedagogical College in 1999. At the same year the college was conferred on
the Anton Makarenko name by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of
Ukraine. Long since this college has
ramified international links. The students from China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Cuba trained in it. Since the proclamation of the Act of
Ukraine’s Independence on August 24, 1991 the college has been turning its
activities on training and upbringing specialists to be competitive on the
labor market. The international links
became wider and more effective. The college realizes mutual projects with
educational institutions of foreign countries, takes part in the European
Training Fund (ETF) project, International Labor Organization (ILO) project,
the “Vidrodzhennia” (Revival) Fund project etc.
Teachers and students’ participation in the “Intel®” project promotes
implementation of the informative-communicative technologies into the
learning-teaching process of the college and VET educational institutions of Ukraine. In 1995, the Ministry of Science of
Ukraine formed an experimental ground named As part of the decision made at the
Vocational Educational Training (VET) Department of the Academy of
Pedagogical Sciences (APS) and the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of
the Vocational Education meeting of APS of Ukraine, the scientific-experimental
laboratory on the innovative technologies of VET teachers’ training was set
up in 1999. From 1999 to 2003, 34 professors
from the Washington State University have read lectures to students, as part
of the American-Ukrainian project named “American Studios”. It made it easier
for college students to master English, improve social skills and get some
insight on the various aspects of the American culture. In the year 2000, the Legal Clinic
was formed on the backing of the “Revival” International Fund. Since 2001 the
college has participated in the Ukrainian-Russian “Entrepreneurship in
Training and Education” international project promoted by the ETF. Throughout its existence, the principals of this educational

college is Olha Ivanivna Scherbak - the Honored Educationist of Ukraine,
Member-Correspondent for the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, Candidate of
Pedagogical Sciences, Senior Research Fellow, Associate Professor, Teacher-Methodologist. There are two departments in this college: Pedagogical
Education Department Marketing
and Legal Studies Department as well as a structural
subdivision for training workers. This college is preparing specialists on such qualification levels as: Bachelor on
